Gustav Brom, the legendary jazzman and band leader, was a Brno native who conquered the world. The saxophonist and violinist was a mainstay of the Brno jazz scene for over 50 years and also toured internationally over 250 times. This year is the 100th anniversary of his birth. To celebrate this, there are several events planned, as well as a tour of the key Brno locations connected with Brom.
Pop Messe is Brno’s entrance on to the European urban musical festival scene, inspired by such festivals as Sonar in Barcelona and All Points East in London, Pop Messe will feature world class festival acts and more, although the festival is scheduled for July, it will be useful to make sure you get your tickets early.
The most exciting news of the summer is that Brno’s own Pop Messe festival will go ahead, albeit with a limited 4000 tickets.
