Welcome to April’s Kam v Brně / Where in Brno. Spring is here and that means the meadows and hills of Brno are alive with blossom and wildflowers. Usually, we would recommend a trip to the blooming Almond Groves of Hustopece, but that may not be possible this year. Closer to home, a trip to the Kamenný Vrch nature trail to see the pasqueflower meadows (Koniklecová louka) in full flower is highly recommended, as are the excellent Nature Trails in Bohunice and Kohoutovice.

Times remain tough for restaurants and clubs, so your ongoing patronage of their windows and delivery services is vital to keep these businesses ticking over and give us all some where to go and celebrate once this is all behind us. It is really important too, to continue to support the musicians and artists that make our city what it is. Please keep a close eye on the facebook pages and websites of your favourite events, musicians, artists, venues and festivals. They are all trying to adapt to this new virtual world and need our support along the way.

Each week on Radio R or later streamed on mixcloud, Simon, aka the Shiny Beast, takes us on a voyage of discovery and adventure through the lesser trodden by-ways of music. For those still mourning the death of English radio DJ, John Peel, this is a soothing balm – mixcloud.com/theshinybeast.
