A significant increase in research and development (R&D) expenditure was recorded in the Czech Republic in the last year. In 2019, spending on R&D grew by 9% compared to 2018. Since 2015, more than 100,000 employees have been working in research and development in the Czech Republic.
Digitization, robotization and automation (factors of Industry 4.0) are developing rapidly in the current situation. According to Dr. Martina Rasticova, Head of the Department of Law and Humanities at Mendel University, the labour market will experience accelerated change due to the pandemic and new industrial methods. The next ten years will see the disappearance of 30% of current jobs, with a similar number of new jobs to be created.
