Over 3 weeks the festival will offer excellent opera productions, a series of concerts and exceptional artists like Robert Carsen, Jakub Hrůša, Karita Matilla, Pavol Breslik, Pavel Haas Quartet and others.

The ceremonial opening will feature a performance of Destiny, a Robert Carsen production tailor‑made for the ensemble of the Janáček Opera and the production of Jenůfa will be embellished by a truly extraordinary guest – soprano Karita Mattila. Richard Strauss is a composer who fundamentally shaped the musical language of the new century. His oeuvre will be represented by Salome, a new production from the Hungarian State Opera. The programme will be expanded to include the postponed premiere of The Greek Passion by B. Martinů. Large‑scale concerts await the visitors to the festival, including Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass and the final concert performed by the Bamberg Symphony.
