Welcome to Kam v Brně / Where in Brno for September 2020. After a long hot summer, it’s time to get back to school and work, but don’t worry, that doesn’t mean the fun is over.

September is traditionally an action-packed month in Brno and this year, even more so. Many events and concerts previously cancelled are back on, such as JazzFest and Bonjour Brno.
The city of Brno has been very active over the summer months encouraging live outdoor music. This will continue into September with a number of exciting events such as the Street Party on Luzanecká to celebrate the reopening of the street on the 6th and the Janaček festival for lovers of classical music, which runs from the 28th. In terms of popular music – with the reduction in the number of international touring bands, there has been a large resurgence of Czech bands out on tour – and you can catch some of them in September at smaller festivals or a whole host of one-off concerts. Some recommendations on facebook, if you like chatting with strangers about living in Brno, then the ever-popular and oft-divisive facebook group Living In Brno is an excellent source of information, debate and light trolling. Another much yummier group is Brno je MŇAM, which keeps all of Brno’s gastro news and events in one place.
Thanks as always to Brno Daily and the Brno Expat Centre for their excellent contributions and to Arielle De Soucey for keep us refreshed with her enticing wine column.
