The Česká pošta ‘train station’ office, based in the iconic building from 1938, will be closed and relocated. Officials considered the Vaňkovka Shopping Center for the new location. The building is of historical value, but in poor condition due to years of neglect.
The Brno Transport Company will refresh its public transport fleet with 40 new Škoda trolleybuses and 40 Škoda ForCity Smart trams at a total cost of CZK 478 million. The first 20 trolleybuses will arrive in January next year and five trams will be delivered by February 2023. Brno’s intercultural assistants are employed by the municipality to help reduce barriers between foreign residents and public service officers. The integration project, facilitated by the City of Brno, has been named among 27 of the best social innovation projects in Europe in a recent publication by the European Commission. St. Anne’s University Hospital (FNUSA) in Brno is establishing its own cannabis research plant to serve as infrastructure for the Cannabis Research Center.
